Harvest Festival
Our Harvest Festival is Friday, November 1 and we are preparing a class basket for the silent auction. Our theme this year is baking. Please donate to our basket. Some ideas: cake pans, cake mixes, frosting, sprinkles, fall towels/potholders. All donations should be turned in by Thursday, October 24.
Heart of Education
On Saturday I was able to attend the Teach to Lead Summit at Spring Valley High School. This summit was attended by administrators, teachers, and other educational professionals from across the state of Nevada; and I was amazed at the depth of knowledge in one high school cafeteria working together to improve education for the students of Nevada. I realize that these 100 participants are just a small fraction of the amazing teachers in our district which brings me to the Heart of Education Award. For the fifth straight year, The Smith Center and The Rogers Foundation are inviting the community to nominate a great teacher to be considered for the The Heart of Education Awards in 2020.
